Ferrari 250 GT PF Convertible permaneceu fechado durante décadas numa garagem

A descoberta de automóveis clássicos esquecidos proliferou-se desde que a internet se expandiu e, hoje em dia, é comum ouvir falar-se muito em “barn finds”, dando ainda mais mistério à descoberta, havendo diversos tipos diferentes de descobertas. Mas quando o automóvel em questão se trata de um Cavallino Rampante a história é ainda mais inquietante, como é o caso deste Ferrari 250 GT Pinin Farina Cabriolet Series II de 1960.
 
Olhando com mais atenção para a fotografias, nota-se um certo brilho na pintura, pois este automóvel estava a ser submetido a um restauro, que nunca chegou a ser terminado, já que o seu proprietário foi forçado a abandonar, quando lhe foi diagnosticado um cancro, falecendo pouco tempo depois.
 
Após a descoberta deste Ferrari, o seu actual proprietário levou-o à 8912TM para lhe dar o tratamento merecido, concluindo assim o seu restauro, levado a cabo por Carl Steuer da Blackhorse Motorsports. O 250 GT, como estava a meio de um restauro e várias eram as peças que estavam espalhadas pela garagem, demoraram dias a encontrar tudo o que pertencia a este automóvel. O motor V12, que tinha sido montado pouco tempo antes da morte do proprietário, estava a poucos metros do automóvel.
 
Para além deste Ferrari 250 GT PF Convertible, a garagem tinha mais clássicos, entre automóveis e motociclos, que pelos mesmo motivos mencionados a cima, também já não andavam há imenso tempo. De entre os outros exemplares, estão dois Rolls-Royce, um Silver Shadow de 1967 e um Silver Wraith dos anos 40, para além de um Austin-Healey BN1 de 1956 e um Jaguar E-Type. A 8912TM adquiriu ainda estes quatro automóveis e alguns motociclos, levando três dias a limpar os automóveis e retirá-los da garagem, sendo o Ferrari o último.
 
O que salta logo à vista deste 250 GT, são as aberturas laterais, nos guarda lamas frontais, podendo tratar-se de um Speciale, onde somente oito dos 212 exemplares foram construídos com estas especificações. Este modelo utilizava o famoso motor V12 Colombo da Ferrari, de 3.0L. O objectivo é ter este automóvel pronto, para ser mostrado na edição deste ano do Pebble Beach Concours D’Elegance, que decorre a 18 de Agosto.
